| Description | Job Description Finance & Accounts Manager Department Finance & Accounts Reports To AVP Location Gurugram, India (with oversight across multi-city business units) Experience 812 years (including 3–5 years in a managerial role) Employment Type Full-Time Job Summary CityFurnish is looking for a hands-on, delivery-focused Finance & Accounts Manager to take complete ownership of the Finance & Accounts function and lead a team of finance executives. This is not a bookkeeping role. It is a leadership position responsible for managing: Financial Accounting Statutory Compliance Taxation Audits Treasury Budgeting MIS Reporting Internal Financial Controls The incumbent will act as a trusted business partner to the AVP and Founder while ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, process improvements, ERP automation, and the development of a high-performing finance team Key Responsibilities A. Financial Accounting Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process. Review the General Ledger for accuracy and completeness. Review and approve journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including capitalization and depreciation. Ensure timely bank reconciliations across all operating accounts. Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations. Review Trial Balance before finalization. Prepare Financial Statements: Profit & Loss Statement Balance Sheet Cash Flow Statement B. Accounts Payable Verify vendor bills against Purchase Orders (PO), GRNs, and contract terms. Manage the complete vendor payment cycle. Monitor vendor ageing and resolve outstanding balances. Conduct vendor reconciliations. Review employee reimbursements. Ensure correct TDS deductions on vendor payments. C. Accounts Receivable Oversee customer invoicing. Monitor collections and outstanding receivables. Review ageing reports. Conduct customer account reconciliations. Ensure accurate revenue recognition. D. Treasury Management Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow plans. Manage daily fund movements. Maintain banking relationships. Manage loans, credit facilities, renewals, and repayments. Optimize working capital across: Receivables Payables Inventory E. Budgeting & MIS Lead annual budgeting exercises. Prepare rolling forecasts. Analyze Budget vs Actual performance. Conduct departmental cost analysis. Prepare profitability reports. Present periodic cash flow reports. Own monthly MIS reporting. Prepare Board and Investor reports. Track Finance KPIs. F. Taxation GST GST computation Return filing ITC reconciliation GST reporting TDS Deduction Deposit Return filing Reconciliation Income Tax Tax computation Return filing Advance Tax payments Other Responsibilities Perform tax reconciliations (GSTR-2A/2B, 26AS, AIS). Handle tax notices. Support tax assessments. Coordinate with tax consultants and legal advisors. G. Audit Management Independently manage: Statutory Audit Internal Audit GST Audit Tax Audit Bank Audit Stock Audit Due Diligence Investor Audit Responsibilities include: Preparing audit schedules Supporting documentation Closing audit observations Coordinating with internal teams Ensuring timely audit completion with minimal qualifications H. Statutory Compliance Ensure timely compliance relating to: GST, TDS, Income Tax , MCA Filings, Companies Act, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Other statutory and regulatory requirements I. Government Notices Act as the primary coordinator for notices received from: GST Department Income Tax Department Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) EPFO ESIC Labour Department Other Regulatory Authorities Team Management Lead the Finance & Accounts team. Allocate work effectively. Conduct performance reviews. Set goals and monitor performance. Mentor and coach team members. Conduct training sessions. Build accountability and ownership. Develop future finance leaders. Internal Financial Controls Design and strengthen internal financial controls. Implement preventive financial checks. Build fraud prevention mechanisms. Monitor policy compliance. Enforce approval workflows. Assess and mitigate financial risks. Conduct periodic process audits. Required Skills Technical Skills Financial Accounting & Reporting (Ind AS / Indian GAAP) GST, TDS & Income Tax Compliance Audit Management Budgeting & Forecasting Variance Analysis Treasury Management Cash Flow Planning MIS Reporting Advanced Microsoft Excel Internal Financial Controls (IFC) Leadership & Behavioural Skills Strong leadership and team management Excellent communication skills High ownership and accountability Analytical thinking Problem-solving ability Ability to work independently Business partnering mindset Qualifications Chartered Accountant (CA) MBA (Finance) M.Com Experience 8–12 years in Finance & Accounts.
